Cut-Flowers: From Garden to Vase

Love super fresh flowers and want to have them all throughout your home this season? Perhaps you have figured out that some flowers that are beautiful outdoors do not do so well once picked and in a vase. In this workshop, we will focus our attention on annuals that are easy to grow, cut, and turn into vibrant arrangements.

We’ll cover

  • which varieties and cultivars make great cuts, in our climate and growing zone

  • planting seeds and plugs, planning your seeding calendar, and how to maximize the planting season

  • weeds, pests, and common challenges of growing flowers

  • harvest basics and common tools

  • how to display and care for flowers once they are cut

$28, includes handouts and some Cinco de Mayo refreshments (BYOB)!

Consider taking this class in conjunction with the Grow that Garden! Workshop offered on 4/20 and 5/5.

We will offer a Garden Check-in & Floral Design Workshop in the early summer; date TBD!
